To reduce CO2 emissions, Austria is increasing the share of renewable energy by expanding hydropower - Geodata is involved!
A total of 6 current expansion and new construction projects for storage power plants in the Alps, which are being built by energy supply companies and the ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways), require the construction of extensive underground structures. A total of almost 50 km of galleries, tunnels and caverns are being excavated for the Rodundwerk I power plant of the Vorarlberger Illwerke, the Kühtai power plant of the Sellrain-Silz power plant group of TIWAG in Tyrol, the two ÖBB power plants Tauernmoos in Salzburg and the Obervellach II power plant in Carinthia and the two integrated power plants Reißeck II of the Malta and Reißeck power plant systems in Carinthia and Limberg III of the Kaprun plant group in Salzburg.
Geodata has been commissioned with comprehensive services for all the above-mentioned construction projects, from TBM machine control, network and control surveys, construction and heading surveys to carrying out geotechnical measurements and supplying the geotechnical instrumentation.
