A few days ago, the first breakthrough for track 2 of the Semmering base tunnel was celebrated. This connected the construction sections between Göstritz in Lower Austria in the district of Neunkirchen (Lot SBT 1.1) and Fröschnitzgraben in Styria in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag (Lot SBT 2.1). Thus, more than 24 km, i.e. almost 90% of the 27.3 km long twin-tube tunnel have already been excavated.
We are proud to have made a significant contribution to this success under difficult geological conditions as being responsible for the control survey of the entire tunnel structure and for the geotechnical measurements in Lot SBT 2.1.
