Contract for surveying services for the 4-track extension of the Western Railway
The project section Marchtrenk-Wels is part of the four-track extension of the Western Railway between Vienna and Salzburg. The project section extends over a length of seven kilometres. In addition to the construction of two new tracks, the existing double-track line will be completely renovated and the Marchtrenk railway station and the Wels switchyard will be rebuilt. Along the route, bridges, noise walls, retention basins and adjacent public roads will be reconstructed or rebuilt. The Wels terminal and the adjacent switching station will also be extensively rebuilt. New switches have to be installed for the integration into the new line, crane tracks for container handling will be extended, the handling tracks in the terminal will be newly integrated into the western railway in an easterly direction and some new buildings will be erected.
We were commissioned by the Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) to create and check the fixed point network, stake out and check the substructure and superstructure and all track systems and railway engineering installations (overhead line and signalling systems, control and communication equipment). In addition, geotechnical monitoring measurements (e.g. for pipe pressing), the surveying support of bridge load tests, the setting back of property boundaries and cadastral final surveys are part of the scope of services.
