The existing pressure shaft of the Rodundwerk I of the Vorarlberger Illwerke will be completely renewed. The pumped storage power station with a capacity of 198 megawatts in turbine operation and 41 megawatts in pump operation is part of the Upper Ill-Lünersee power station group and supplies valuable peak and control energy. The new pressure shaft is being excavated using a tunnel boring machine. This will work its way from bottom to top and then be extended at the top.
At the end of August, driving of the open hard rock TBM, which is equipped with our control system TAUROS, started.
