The S-LINK project will make Salzburg’s transport fit for the future and create an attractive alternative to individual commuting. As an extension of the local railway, the project will connect Salzburg’s main station with the south of the provincial capital and the city of Hallein in four construction phases. The first of four construction phases is the 1 km long underground section from the main station to Mirabellplatz and will start in 2023. For the remaining sections, extensive exploratory work is underway to select the route.
Geodata has already been involved since 2020 with extensive geophysical explorations (seismic and georadar) and the equipment of groundwater measuring wells with piezometers and data loggers. The latest contract involves the instrumentation and measurement of a test field for the planned ground improvement measures with jet grouting and includes georobot systems for automatic 3D monitoring, levelling and borehole instrumentation with inclinometers and magnetostrictive extensometers.
