The tunnels north and south of the Danube – the later ascents and descents of the bridge from and to the national roads B127 and B129 were excavated by blasting. A total of 3,200 m of tunnel with an excavation volume of 370,000 m3 was constructed. In the four-lane sections with emergency shoulders, the cross-section is 200 m2 , in the area of junction structures (merging of ramps in the mountain) the cross-section is even up to 400 m2.
