Project description
Essentially, the construction project includes the diversion of several watercourses from the rear Stubaital and middle Ötztal with a gallery length of 25.5 km, the construction of the Kühtai reservoir in the rear Längental with a usable volume of approx. 31 million m³ and a 113 m high natural stone fill dam with a central earth core seal, and the construction of an underground pumped storage power plant “Kraftwerk Kühtai 2” between the new Kühtai reservoir and the existing Finstertal reservoir. The additional annual production amounts to 216 million kWh.
