Project description
On behalf of ÖBB, GEODATA supported the comprehensive modernization of the railway bridge in Peter-Tunner-Gasse in Graz. The existing bridge had reached the end of its service life and was completely renewed as part of the project.
The four-track bridge between Graz Main Station and the marshalling yard was dismantled in sections and replaced with a modern reinforced concrete structure. At the same time, the underlying road section between Wiener Straße and Waagner-Biro-Straße was renovated by the City of Graz. During the construction phase, three tracks had to remain operational at all times, posing particularly high demands on planning and execution.

As part of the project, GEODATA was responsible for the complete surveying support and accompanied all project phases from preparation to completion. At the beginning, all existing control points were verified and a precise survey network was established for construction purposes. During the construction works, continuous geodetic monitoring of the operational tracks was carried out to ensure the safety and stability of the infrastructure at all times. In addition, regular control measurements were performed on behalf of ÖBB to ensure compliance with all technical requirements. GEODATA also carried out all setting-out work for the substructure and superstructure of the railway tracks. Finally, all newly constructed structures were tested under load and fully documented, ensuring comprehensive quality assurance.
