UDKO2_Soil Tunnel Drammen

Project description

Bane NOR is building a 10 km double-track line from Drammen to Kobbervikdalen and from Drammen to Gulskogen as part of the ongoing modernization of the Vestfold line. The Drammen-Kobbervikdalen project includes a 320 m long tunnel in loose ground. The project is complex and includes extensive earthworks and foundation work, multidisciplinary railroad engineering work and a number of challenging construction phases.
Lot UDK- 02 includes the construction of a double-track railroad tunnel with a length of 300 m and a cross-section of 155 m². The excavation is being carried out in geotechnically and hydrologically very challenging soft ground. Before the excavation work could begin, the ground had to be improved using a jet grouting process.
