Project description
With the construction of the Wiental collector sewer west, the city of Vienna aims to relieve the existing sewers and ensure water protection. The Wiental sewer will be built as a gravity sewer in a closed construction method as a 9 km long tunnel with TBM and segment lining with an internal diameter of 3.00 m. Excavation will proceed in two directions from the launch shaft. The collection channels to the left and right of the Wien River will be connected to the new sewer via 39 existing overflow chambers. In addition, four additional connections will be created. The new sewage tunnel, which will extend across six districts of Vienna, will relieve the sewer network during heavy rainfall and improve water quality in the Wien River.

GEODATA services:
We have been commissioned by the construction consortium to carry out construction and heading surveys, geotechnical measurements and the delivery and installation of measuring equipment. The measurement programme includes inclinometer measurements, vibration measurements and track monitoring during the underpass of the U4 liquid level systems and tilt sensors. For heading control we use our motor laser systems, tunnel scanners and the tunnel mapper for photogrammetric 3D recording.
